Outside academics, I love classical music, sports of almost any kind, travelling, and plane-spotting. I speak Spanish conversationally, which I have put to use while teaching as a volunteer in rural Colombia. I have also been involved in volunteer labor advocacy. For readers interested in labor trends in China, LaborFact is a thoughtful Chinese-language site channeling the voices of rank-and-file workers often ignored by mainstream media.
